Delete your account
Last updated 12 October 2026
You can delete your Vimblu account at any time, from inside the app or by asking us. Either way it is deleted straight away, not deactivated, and you cannot get it back.
In the app
- Open Profile, then Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. You are signed out and the account is gone.
By email
If you can no longer open the app, email hello@vimblu.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject Delete my account. We need the email to come from that address, because it is the only thing that proves the account is yours. We delete the account within 30 days and reply when it is done.
Deleting some of your data, keeping the account
You do not have to close your account to remove something from it. In the app:
- A photo: open Profile, tap the photo, then Delete. It is removed from our storage straight away.
- Your profile line: open Profile and clear it.
- A private note about a match: open the note from the chat and delete it.
- A match, with its chat and plans: open the match's profile and choose Unmatch. The chat, the date plans and your note about that person are deleted for both of you.
- Your location: turn location off for Vimblu in your phone's settings. We then only keep the city the connection suggests, which changes as you move.
For anything else, email hello@vimblu.com from the address you signed up with, saying what you want removed. We answer within 30 days. Safety records, verification images of a restricted or reported account, and technical records stay for the periods below, because they are not only about you.
What is deleted when the account goes
Your sign-in, profile, photos, profile line, neighbourhood, preferences, settings, location, matches, private notes, chats and date plans. Your face verification images are deleted too, unless your account was restricted or somebody reported you.
What stays, and for how long
- Records that keep other people safe — reports, blocks, the outcome of a report and what a moderator did — for up to a year, because they are about how people were treated rather than about you alone.
- Face verification images of a restricted or reported account, for up to two years, so that an account closed for breaking the rules cannot simply be opened again under a new email.
- Technical records for 90 days, and email you sent us for up to two years.
The Privacy Policy describes each of these in full.
