Good questions
Do I get called out of nowhere?
Never. A call can only start when you have both liked each other and you are both available. You can step away whenever you want.
How long is a call?
Up to ten minutes, and either of you can end it sooner. Enough to know whether there is something there — and if there is, you can keep talking after you match.
What if it goes badly?
End the call. If someone made you uncomfortable, report or block them and they will not reach you again.
Can I keep talking afterwards?
That is the match. When the call ends you each decide privately whether to keep going, and if you both say yes the chat opens. Neither of you finds out unless it is mutual. From there, keep talking however you like — by text, audio or video call.
Do I have to keep the app open to be matched?
Not on your phone. With the iOS or Android app, stay available after you close it and we will notify you when someone is around to meet. You can also set your availability schedule, so you only hear from us at times that suit you. In the browser there are no notifications, so keep the tab open while you wait.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Vimblu runs in your browser today — the iOS and Android apps are on the way.
Is it free?
Yes. Joining, matching and video calls are free, and no card is needed. There are fair-use limits, and if we ever add paid extras you’ll see the price before you buy.
