Terms of Use
Last updated 10 October 2026
Welcome to Vimblu. These terms are an agreement between you and Tukbear Studios Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17478348, whose registered office is at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Vimblu is our product, on iOS, Android and the web at app.vimblu.com (together, the “Service”).
By creating a profile you agree to these terms and to our community rules in section 5. How we use your information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which you should read too. If you don't agree, please don't use Vimblu.
The short version. Not a substitute for the rest, but it's what matters most:
- You must be 18 or over, and on Vimblu for yourself, honestly.
- Vimblu is video first: you meet someone on a short video call before you can message them.
- You verify your face before you can call anyone, and the check has to see a face old enough. Because it's an estimate, someone over 18 can still be refused.
- No nudity or sexual content, on calls or in chats.
- Don't record, screenshot or share anything from a call or a chat.
- We don't run background checks. Face verification shows that the person who verified matched their main photo at that moment. It doesn't tell you who someone is, what they've done, or who is on camera during a call. Meeting anyone in person is your decision and your responsibility.
- We can remove content and restrict or close accounts that break these rules.
- Our liability to you is limited as far as the law allows (section 13), but nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
1. Who can use Vimblu
To create an account you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be able to form a binding contract with us, and not be barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you;
- not have been convicted of, or be subject to any court order or registration requirement relating to, a sexual offence or an offence involving violence;
- not have had a Vimblu account restricted or closed by us before, unless we have told you in writing that you may come back;
- have only one account, and use it only for yourself.
We may ask you to prove any of this. If we learn or reasonably believe that someone under 18 is using Vimblu, we will close the account.
2. How Vimblu works
Vimblu pairs you with other people who are available and fit both of your preferences, and each of you decides from the other's profile whether to connect. If you both say yes, you meet on a short video call. We set how long calls last and may change it, and either of you can end a call at any time. Afterwards each of you says whether you'd like to keep talking; you match, and a chat opens, only if both of you say yes. Where we offer it, matches can also call each other from the chat and plan another call or a meeting in person. We may limit any of these features, and what's included may change or become a paid feature (sections 9 and 10).
We don't promise that you'll be paired with anyone, how often, or with whom, and we don't guarantee that anyone you meet is compatible with you.
Places to meet. When you plan to meet a match, Vimblu may suggest places, using place information from third parties. No place pays to be suggested. If that ever changes, sponsored suggestions will be clearly labelled. We don't visit, check or endorse any place, and details such as opening hours may be out of date. Where you meet is your choice — for a first meeting, somewhere public (section 6).
Face verification, and checking your age
Before you can make video calls you must verify your face: a short liveness check on your device, which we then compare with your main profile photo. How we handle this is set out in the Privacy Policy, and we ask for your explicit consent before we do it.
The same check estimates how old the face looks, and we refuse anyone it doesn't clearly place over 18. Because it's an estimate, you can be over 18 and still be refused; if that happens, write to hello@vimblu.com and a person will look at it. We may limit how many times you can try.
Verification shows only that the person completing the check was a real, live person who matched the main photo at that moment and looked old enough. It is not an identity check or a background check, and it doesn't confirm who is on camera during any later call.
3. Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep access to that email account secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at hello@vimblu.com if you think someone else has used your account.
You are responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your profile truthful and up to date. Your account is yours alone: don't share it, let anyone else use it, or keep more than one.
How we'll contact you. We'll use your email address or a message in the app for anything we need to tell you about Vimblu, including changes to these terms. Make sure the address on your account works.
4. Your content
“Your content” means anything you add to Vimblu: your profile details, photos, your profile line, messages, feedback, and the video and audio you send during a call.
You keep ownership of your content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, adapt (for example resize or crop) and display your content, only as needed to run, secure and improve the Service, including showing your profile to the people you're paired with and passing your messages and video to the person you're talking to. We may let the service providers described in the Privacy Policy do the same on our behalf. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we keep as described in the Privacy Policy, for example evidence connected with a report.
We do not use your photos in advertising, and we don't sell your content.
You promise that you have the right to share your content, that your photos are of you, and that your content doesn't break these terms or anyone else's rights.
5. Community rules
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You must not:
On calls and in chats
- show or send nudity, sexual acts or sexual content of any kind, on a video call or in a chat;
- record, screenshot, screen-share or capture a call or a chat, or share anything from one outside Vimblu, without the other person's clear permission;
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk, intimidate or demean anyone, including after they have said no or stopped replying;
- use hateful language or content targeting anyone for their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or any other protected characteristic;
- promote or glorify violence, self-harm, terrorism or illegal activity;
- let anyone under 18 appear on a call, or share any content that sexualises minors. We report child sexual exploitation and abuse to the relevant authorities.
In your profile and your profile line
- use a profile line that is sexual, crude, hateful, or that gives out contact details or links — phone numbers, usernames, email addresses or anything else that moves people off Vimblu before they have met;
- put anyone else's information, or a photo of anyone else, in your profile.
About who you are
- pretend to be someone else, use photos that aren't of you, or misrepresent your age or gender.
Commercial and fraud
- ask anyone for money, gifts, financial details or investments, or run scams, including romance scams;
- advertise, sell, recruit or solicit, including for escort or sex work, or promote other apps, services or social media accounts for commercial purposes.
The Service itself
- use bots, scripts or automation, or access the Service other than through our apps and website;
- scrape, collect or copy other people's information, or use anything from Vimblu — profiles, photos, messages or video — to train or evaluate an AI model;
- try to get around our moderation, verification, rate limits, blocks or restrictions, including by opening a new account;
- interfere with, overload, reverse engineer or probe the Service or its security;
- file false or malicious reports.
These rules also apply to anything you do off Vimblu with people you met on it, where we become aware of it and it puts our users at risk.
6. Safety — please read
We do not conduct criminal background checks, identity checks or screening of our users, and we can't verify what people tell you. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, on and off Vimblu.
- Take precautions before meeting anyone in person: meet somewhere public, tell a friend, arrange your own transport, and never send money.
- If you feel unsafe on a call, end it. You can report and block anyone, including during a call.
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services first.
7. Moderation, reports and blocks
Automatic checks. Your photos, your profile line, your messages and the video on a call may be checked automatically for anything that breaks these rules, and may be refused, hidden or removed. If a call is reported, a short clip from it may be sent to us for review. The Privacy Policy explains how this works. We don't tell the person reported who reported them.
Blocks. Reporting someone always blocks them too. A block is permanent: you won't be paired with that person again, and any match and chat between you are removed.
Photos aren't shown to anyone else until they've been checked. We may limit how many photos you can have and how often you can upload them.
What we don't promise. We may review, refuse, remove or restrict any content at any time, including without telling you first, but we are not obliged to monitor what people do on Vimblu, and our automatic checks are not a guarantee that everything against these rules is caught. If something breaks these rules and we haven't acted on it, please report it.
8. Restrictions and closing accounts
We may remove or restrict your content, limit what your account can do, or close it, if we reasonably believe you've broken these terms, that your use of Vimblu puts anyone at risk, or that the law requires it. Some of these decisions are made automatically, and a person reviews them. Where the law requires it we'll tell you what happened and why, and you can ask us to look again by writing to hello@vimblu.com within six months. We may hold back notice where it would put someone at risk or compromise an investigation.
Closing your account yourself. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. What we delete, and what we keep and why, is in the Privacy Policy.
Sections 4 (for retained copies), 6, and 11 to 17 continue to apply after your account ends.
9. Price
If we charge for anything, we'll show you the price and the terms that apply before you buy.
10. Changes to Vimblu and to these terms
Vimblu is a new product and will change. We may add, change or remove features, or stop offering the Service, and will try to give reasonable notice of anything significant.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless it's needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you keep using Vimblu after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
11. Our intellectual property
Vimblu, its name, logo, software and design belong to Tukbear Studios Ltd or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps and the website for their intended purpose while these terms apply. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or build on any part of the Service.
Feedback you send us may be used by us freely and without payment to you.
If you think something on Vimblu infringes your rights — your photo used by someone else, your copyright, your trade mark — write to hello@vimblu.com with enough detail to find it: what the content is, where it is, why you own the right, and how to contact you. We'll look at it and remove anything that shouldn't be there. Repeated infringement is a reason for us to close an account.
12. Services we rely on
The Service depends on third parties for hosting, calls, app stores, notifications and place and map information, and calls depend on your connection as well as ours. We are not responsible for services run by other people, including app stores and your mobile network, and links to other websites are not endorsements.
13. Our responsibility to you
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that our automated checks will catch everything or never make mistakes, or that you will meet anyone.
We are not responsible for the behaviour of other users, on or off Vimblu, or for anything that results from meeting someone you found through it.
To the extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, and our total liability to you for all claims connected with the Service is limited to the greater of £100 (or the equivalent in your currency) and the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
14. Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms or the law and a claim is made against us because of it, you agree to compensate Tukbear Studios Ltd for the reasonable losses, damages and costs, including legal fees, that result directly from it, to the extent the law allows. This doesn't affect your rights as a consumer.
15. Law and disputes
We'd like to hear about a problem first: write to hello@vimblu.com and we'll try to resolve it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
- If you live in the EU, Northern Ireland, Scotland or anywhere else that gives you rights as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country and can bring proceedings in your local courts.
- If you live in the EU, you may also take a complaint about a decision we made on your content or your account to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body in your country, and you can reach us about anything under the Digital Services Act at hello@vimblu.com, which is our single point of contact for users and for authorities.
We won't shorten the time the law gives you to bring a claim.
16. General
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to another company, for example if Vimblu is sold; we'll tell you, and it won't reduce your rights. You may not transfer yours.
- Nobody else has rights under these terms, except as set out in section 17.
17. If you downloaded Vimblu from the Apple App Store
These terms are between you and Tukbear Studios Ltd, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it, including product liability, failure to meet legal requirements, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. Tukbear Studios Ltd, not Apple, is responsible for dealing with those. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with Apple's Usage Rules.
