Child safety standards
Last updated 14 October 2026
Vimblu is a dating app for adults. We do not allow anyone under 18 to use it, and we do not tolerate child sexual abuse or exploitation in any form. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how we keep children off the service, how to report a concern, and what we do when we receive one. The Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy make the same commitments in full.
What is prohibited
We prohibit any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child, including:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, whether real, drawn or generated;
- sexual conversation with or about a minor, and any attempt to arrange contact with one;
- grooming, sextortion, and any request for sexual images from a minor;
- an account used by, or on behalf of, anyone under 18;
- any use of the service to find or approach a child.
An account doing any of this is closed. There is no warning first.
Keeping under-18s off Vimblu
- Date of birth at sign-up. You cannot create a profile without one, and a date that makes you under 18 is refused.
- A face check before the first call. Before anyone can take part in a video call, their device records a short liveness check and we compare the face with their main profile picture. The same check estimates whether the face is old enough; if the estimate does not clearly place the person over 18, the check is refused and they cannot call anyone. A refusal can only be cleared by a person at Vimblu looking at it.
- Pictures are moderated before they are shown. Every profile picture is checked by an automated service before anyone else sees it, and a picture that fails is never shown.
- Calls are watched for nudity on both devices, and video that shows it is hidden. We say more about this in the Privacy Policy.
- No under-18 features. Vimblu has no accounts, settings or content for children, and the apps are rated for adults in both stores.
How to report a concern
In the app. Every person you meet can be reported from the video call itself (the shield button) and from their profile in Matches. Choose Underage or minor when the concern is a child, or Nudity or sexual content for sexual material. Reporting also blocks the person immediately, so they can never be shown to you again, and they are not told.
By email. Write to hello@vimblu.com with "Child safety" in the subject. You do not need an account, and you can report on someone else's behalf.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first: 999 in the United Kingdom, or your local emergency number.
What we do with a report
- A report about a child is reviewed by a person, and it is reviewed first.
- Where we find material or behaviour described above, we close the account, remove the content, and keep the evidence for as long as the law allows so that it can be investigated. The face from the account's verification is kept on a private list, so that the same person cannot verify a new account.
- We report child sexual abuse material and attempts to exploit a child to the relevant authorities, including the National Crime Agency in the United Kingdom and, where the law or our providers require it, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States. We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
- We do not tell the person reported who reported them.
The law
Vimblu is run by Tukbear Studios Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We comply with the laws that apply to us on child sexual abuse and exploitation, including the Online Safety Act 2023 and the Protection of Children Act 1978 in the United Kingdom, and with Google Play's and Apple's child safety policies. We review these standards at least once a year and whenever the service changes in a way that affects them.
